Management Accountant / Tax Accountant vacancy

June 2026vacancy – Building on our continued growth Matix Accounts Limited are looking to recruit a qualified accountant to join our team – CIMA, ACCA, AAT, ICB.

What we are looking for is

• excellent analytical skills
• balance sheet reconciliations
• cashflows
• journals, prepayments, accruals
• produce board packs
• onboarding detective work, new clients need thorough checking
• correction of historical errors on new clients – some of which can be quite intricate
• excel skills & love of software
• all round enjoyment of a good reconciliation!
• work closely with our clients
• excellent time management
• ability to multitask and respond quickly

We will provide training on the accounts software we use – Xero, SAGE50, SAGE business cloud, Quickbooks, experience is helpful.

We love software and consider ourselves ‘digital dynamos’ and help people move from paper to paperless  – there are so many accounting digital options now, it continues to be a very exciting time in the industry. Examples of software we use are ApprovalMax, Apron, Telleroo, Syft, A2X, Xbert (which is awesome!), Briefcase, Dext.

You will see from our website the services we offer our clients. We are the outsourced finance department for many businesses, and work closely with so many business owners, entrepreneurs and their teams, some clients have over 100 employees and their own Finance Directors and require board packs and suites of management reports to present to investors – our clients are in really interesting industries.

We do not do year end corporation tax or self assessments – but knowledge of these is useful when faced with historical errors to identify.

No day is the same – but all days are challenging and interesting. An important feature of Matix Accounts is the sense of team, we have a broad range of skills between us, and this provides the solutions our clients need and provides them with 52 weeks a year service with no interruptions for absence.

Matix Accounts office is based in the centre of Knutsford; it really is a delightful location alongside the Moor park and Moor pool. With so many lovely eateries on the doorstep we do get to enjoy the odd breakfast sandwich and cake!! Lunch time walks can be taken in the wonderful Tatton Park.

We are looking for candidates who may like full time or may like part time – school hours can be considered and there is flexibility around school holidays, with some working from home time.
